Takayama Chasen – Handcrafted White Bamboo Matcha Whisk
Handcrafted by Kubo Sabun, a renowned Takayama Chasen craftsman from Takayama, Nara, Japan, the birthplace of Japanese bamboo tea whisks with over 500 years of tradition.
Takayama is renowned as Japan’s leading region for chasen craftsmanship, and Takayama Chasen was officially designated a Traditional Craft of Japan in 1975.
Each whisk is meticulously crafted from a single piece of natural white bamboo, carefully split and shaped into approximately 80 delicate prongs. This refined structure helps create a fine, creamy foam and a smooth texture when preparing matcha.
